Rock,paper,scissors

I understand how scissors beat paper, and i get how rock can beat scissors, but there is no way paper can beat rock. Is paper supose to magicly wrap itself around rock and leave it imobile?  If so why cant paper do this to scissors? Forget scissors, why cant paper do this to people? Why dont sheets of paper try to strangle school studants while there trying to make notes? I'll tell you why because scissors couldn't beat any one. Rock would tear throuh that paper in seconds. When I play rock,paper,scissors I always go for rock . Then when someone clames to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my ready made fist and say "oh I'm sorry I thought that paper would protect you"
